The Perhentian Islands lie approximately 10 nautical miles (19 km) off the coast of northeastern Malaysia in the state of Terengganu, approximately 40 miles (64 km) south of the Thai border. The two main islands are Perhentian Besar ("Big Perhentian") and Perhentian Kecil ("Small Perhentian"). The small, uninhabited islands of Susu Dara (Virgin Milk), Seringgi and Rawa lie off Kecil. The Perhentians belong to Pulau Redang National Marine Park, which means that fishing, collecting coral and littering are strictly prohibited.
Perhentian islands are fringed by white sand beach, and the reefs and crystalline water are host to a wide variety of coral, sea-turtles, jellyfish, small sharks and reef-fish. The islands' maximum elevation is approximately 100 m and they are uniformly covered in coastal tropical jungle, with few interior foot-trails and no roads.
Other than the owners and staff of the numerous cabin-style resorts that dot the islands (many of whom depart for the monsoon season), the islands' only permanent inhabitants live in a small fishing village on Kecil. With the exception of a single mainland-communications tower, there are no structures taller than two storeys.

The park is arguable among the best diving spots in the world where marine life is protected and souvenir hunters are liable for prosecution. This paradise-like island is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, jungle trekking, fishing, boating, and canoeing. Until recently, accommodation has been in the form of chalets, but if you are keen on luxury, an international class hotel has just opened its doors.
J)
Sipadan Island: 4 Days/3 Nights
Sipadan attracts divers from all over the world simply because it is the best diving spot in Malaysia and among the best in the world. The island is situated about 35 km off the East Coast of Borneo and is near the Indonesian border. The tiny 12 ha jungle-covered island is bordered by snow white sandy beaches that rise up out of the turquoise-blue sea. Sipadan was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct undersea volcano. With its surrounding coral reef the island rises in the form of a slim rocky needle 600m from the seabed.
A legend in diving circles, the name Sipadan
conjures up images of Barracudas and Jacks moving about, Hammerhead sharks
patrolling the waters, colourful fishes darting around the reefs and sea-turtles
gently swimming with the currents.
A popular feature of this island is the precipitous reef wall just a mere 8
metres in front of Borneo Divers' and Pulau Sipadan's resorts. Many divers have
remarked that staying and diving on the island is similar to doing so from a
live-aboard ship, because all dive sites can be reached in a few minutes
K) Mulu
Cave National Park: 4 Days/3 Nights
It has been frequently noted that Mulu "defies description". What follows is not an attempt to describe Mulu but rather an attempt to entice and prepare you, the potential visitor, for the adventure that await within Sarawak's largest National Park.
The famous pinnacles rise above the tree tops (over 45m) with their razor-sharp tips at Gunung Api and Benarat. In the limestone beneath the jungle canopy lie some of the world's most impressive caves. It includes the world's largest cave passage (Deer Cave), the world's largest natural chamber (Sarawak Chamber), and at 110km, the longest cave in South East Asia (Clearwater Cave). Just for the record, Sarawak Chamber can accommodate 40 Boeing 747 aircraft with room to spare and Deer Cave can hold England's St. Paul's Cathedral five times over. To date, about 195 km of cave passages have been surveyed and more is expected to be revealed.>>> Local Tours
